Caitlin M. Hudac, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of South Carolina and director of the Brain Research Across Development (B-RAD) Lab, where she leads studies of how the social brain develops from infancy through adulthood. Trained in developmental psychology and cognitive neuroscience, she uses tools such as EEG, ERP, eye tracking, and fMRI to link brain activity with learning, social communication, and behavior in both neurotypical and neurodivergent individuals. Dr. Hudac’s work includes developing brain-based biomarkers for rare genetic neurodevelopmental conditions, including MED13L-related syndrome, through long-standing collaborations with Simons Searchlight and family-led foundations. She is especially committed to accessible, community-engaged research, designing mobile and flexible study protocols that reduce barriers to participation for families in rural, underrepresented, and medically complex communities.
